On October 14, 2017, in Seattle, Washington, 10,000 Heart and Stroke Walk attendees went the extra mile for a good cause. The
Arctic Cool family was happy to have the opportunity to participate, sponsor, and donate
Instant Cooling Shirts to the participants and fundraisers of the walk. Event participants even customized their Instant Cooling Shirts to promote the cause! In addition to donating, we also got to host a giveaway to get everyone pumped up for heart health. Survivors were provided with red hats to indicate they’d fought and won a battle against heart disease or stroke.
At the event, participants walk a 5k (3.1 miles) to raise money and awareness about the deadly disease. People of all ages and all backgrounds united together to celebrate life and treatment research. Individuals, local businesses, and organizations all joined in the national fight against heart disease. As a result of everyone's efforts, the event raised almost $2 million dollars to support the American Heart Association.
The Heart and Stroke Walk helps spread awareness of the number one and number five causes of death in the US. Heart disease and stroke, that claim a significant number of lives each year. One in four Americans dies of heart disease annually and 1 in 20 dies of a stroke. While the event in Seattle may be over, there are many more to attend around the country.
